  Sad Hill is movie history. Sergio Leone, Clint Eastwood, Eli Wallach and Lee Van Cleef filmed the quintessential scene of The Good The Bad and The Ugly (Zwei glorreiche Halunken in German) here -- widely recognized as one of the greatest cinematic achievements in history, ranking highly in most best-of lists. Leone and composer Morricone turned the "triello" (the final, nearly neverending shootout) into something unreal, and Sad Hill is the "cemetery" at whose center this history-making took place. In 2016, on the occasion of the film's 50th anniversary, a group of local cineastes and volunteers restored the site, bringing it back to its original movie glory. Their work cannot be lauded and praised enough -- being there now is a true marvel, triggering rich thoughts and feelings of those who loved the film and it's director's work. If you are among those, a visit is highly recommended, regardless from where you are. And regardless what the outer conditions are -- "Sad Hill" will do its job come rain or shine. (I was there on a cold and wet day in March 2017...)

  This place is litterally in the midle of nowhere, break down and its a long long walk back to town. So quiet, I saw 2 people in around 4 hrs.
